1. Choose Fullness (how rich/gathered you want your curtains to look):
1.5× → tailored look
2× → standard (most common)
2.5× → full/luxurious
2. Calculate Total Width Needed: Window width (in inches) × fullness = total fabric width needed
3. Determine Number of Panels Needed: Total width needed ÷ fabric width → round up to the nearest full yard
4. Determine Length Per Panel Needed:Height of the space you are covering + 16–20 inches for hems
5. Convert to Yards: (number of panels × length per panel in inches) ÷ 36 → round up to the nearest full yard
