We are a family-owned business operating for over 120 years, selling apparel and interior fabrics to wholesale and retail customers

Gerson Fishman started selling textiles in the Maxwell Street Market on Chicago’s Near West Side in 1903. At the time, it was the largest open-air market in the United States, known as the “Ellis Island of the Midwest.” After selling fabrics out of his pushcart for several years, Gerson opened a store on Union Avenue and called it G. Fishman’s Sons Inc. The store has relocated twice within the neighborhood, and the name changed to Fishman’s Fabrics in the 1970s, but we are still doing the same thing four generations later.

Fishman’s Fabrics is one of largest stores of its kind in the United States, with fabrics sourced from the world’s finest textile mills across over 30 countries. Most of our inventory is available on our website, but we also have a large selection of affordable close-out and remnant fabrics, some of which has not been uploaded, so if you can’t find what you’re looking for on here, give us a call or stop by our showroom.

We would love to work with you and make you part of our extended family.

Passionately,
Pam, Gregg and Oscar
